CHINA WORK ON FACE RECOGNITION PAYMENT SYSTEM
Chinese Academy of Sciences (CAS) is preparing to launch a payment application to face recognition. Personal identification occurs with almost perfect accuracy.
According to the newspaper Science and Technology Daily citing Chongqing Institute of green technologies in the Chinese Academy of Sciences, the system uses the world's largest database of Asian people, which has more than 50 million records. The database has been formed with the participation of foreign universities.
According to the researchers, the system uses a unique technology of data collection, which allows you to scan a person into more than 90 corners. A system's ability to self-learning provides stability and accuracy in a fast-paced environment.
The system recognizes the person as accurately as possible according to international standard Carnegie Mellon University - 99.8 percent. Thus, the researchers broke the previous record of his colleagues - 97.6 percent.
Face recognition technology has been applied in various fields. It is used in border control, as well as for access control and time attendance.
To take advantage of the new system, you need to install a special application on their mobile device and attach it to a bank account or card. Developers argue that the system identifies the payer only for "one second."
High reliability of recognition provides a special algorithm, which does not allow to cheat the system when trying to show her a picture or video instead of a real person. Furthermore, the system automatically tracks changing the characteristics of the object, considering their impact on the result. For example, a person lose weight or let his hair grow.
Researchers are also developing a payment terminal. Running the system is scheduled for 2015.
Meanwhile, the largest operator of electronic funds PayPal created a service that allows you to pay for your purchases in one touch.
